Due to the aging population in the United States there are approximately 500,000 new cases of heart failure per year.  Despite the many advances in drug therapy and cardiac assist devices, 60% of patients diagnosed with severe heart failure will die.    This course provides information on the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of heart failure.
